Just Hanging Outside
So it took Abigail a few days to get used to the grass. Now it seems as if it is no big deal. She especially loves pushing her brother's old tractor around. In the past few days she has really been wanting to walk, which has made our "outside" time more fun. Sometimes, she will even stand by herself and just look around...soon after she will be back to crawling. I think she will just be taking her own time, which is fine. Our kids seem to be growing up too fast for me anyways.
Caleb and the IPOD
There is one way to get our child to settle down...Music! He loves Christian music that talks about Jesus! Isn't he so cool with his "Daddy's" IPOD! Though I think he now thinks that he owns it!

Indy Zoo Trip #2
We decided this time to have Grandma Placeway and Daddy come along for the ride. Oh and it was a ride. We left the house at 8:00AM with all intentions to be at the zoo by 9:00 and start back home around noon. (Gotta get those naps in.) But... soon into our journey Caleb informed us that he had to go #2! No toilet seat in the car...so all around Broad Ripple we went until we got our bearings and made it to Wal-Mart! Caleb was such a trooper and held it the entire time. I grabbed a potty seat and off we went. This is just a great time to remind all potty training Mom's to at least have a seat in the car. It was an adventure!
9:30 AM....we were at the zoo and Caleb pranced Grandma around like he knew where everything was to see. He is definately a keeper. As always...Abigail just enjoyed hanging out and being with us. Who knew Caleb and Abby would be so different.
It really was a special day and yes we made it home for naps. Priorities people!
Abigail Eating
And so it is that we have begun the next phase of eating. Abby strives harder every single day to eat more and more solids without anyone's help. I wonder where she gets all of her independence from...it seems Steve and I both have a little of this in us. Oh paybacks!
The Indiana Earthquake
So I have to say that I have never experienced anything like that before. I was awaken by our armoire knocking against the wall. I actually thought it was our dog's tail. Not exactly.... I believe it was the loud sound, the rocking, and the banging against the wall that really got me. On the humorous side I thought...oh no...I have been left behind. That was until I realized what was going on. My legs were shaking, and I yelled "STEVE...What is going on??" I know he loved that! So off we went to check on Caleb; he was a little freaked out. One of his pictures fell off the wall, and he wanted to know what had "just happened". And so our morning began at 5:30 AM with a brief answer to what an earthquake is all about and maybe why it happened today! Abigail...sound asleep!
All of this just put a nice little reminder in our lap of how important our life is and how how quickly things can change. Enjoy every moment God has given you!

Expelled-Ben Stein's New movie

Ben Stein's film Expelled makes a powerful case for "Intelligent Design" in explaining the origins of life and the creation of the universe. It also exposes an entrenched and aggressive Darwinist establishment in academia that suffocates all competing points of view. Highly qualified professors and scientists who dare to question evolutionary orthodoxy are systematically excluded or summarily dismissed. It is political correctness run amuck on university campuses.
Stein sets out on a mission to find out why I.D. is most often "expelled" from the public square, and what he discovers in this riveting documentary is incredibly enlightening. I recommend the film enthusiastically.
— Dr. James Dobson
We look forward to going to see this soon. It opens April 18th and will be showing at the Village Park Stadium 17 in Carmel!
And the Winner is....
Tara Nichols with 81 points total! But...Steve did want me to let everyone know that neither of us picked anyone for the Final Game...anyways...I still won!

Indy Zoo
So I woke up at 7:15 this morning, which is sleeping in over here, and decided to take the kids to the Zoo. Within 1 hour we were out the door and on our way. Quite amazing I thought. I love structure, but I am also one of those last minute...lets just go now...type of people. It keeps me on my toes and busy.
We had a great time enjoying the Butterfly Garden and all the animals. Today I was truly amazed of all that God has given us. As Caleb walked around, he was blown away by everything. It was as if it was his very first time, and I loved looking through the eyes of a child once again. Abby was content as ever and enjoyed multiple snacks and some giggles with her big brother...especially when they found the chickens. Who knew!
God truly satisfied us with His beauty this morning and His unfailing love is something we witness daily. I truly felt great joy today and for that I feel blessed.
Psalm 90:14
14 Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love,
that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.

The Life of A Child

So Caleb insisted on dressing up like Buzz Lightyear today. The greatest part about it was that we had to go to the Post Office. Oh yes...there he was in his glory. You would have thought he was the King. A police"girl" was inside, and she told him how much she liked his outfit. That was all he could talk about..."That Police "Girl" saw me!" We had so much fun, and I think everyone else there thought it was great too. This is just another huge benefit of being a Mom and letting your kids be who they are. I love my kids!
