Working With Daddy!
Today is a special day for Caleb. We have been stuck inside since last Tuesday (Dr. orders), and we thought it would be nice for Caleb to get out for a little something. We still have to keep a close eye on him, but thought one little trip out wouldn't hurt. (Plus it is a nice little break for Mommy...perfectly planned.)
So off he went with Daddy to take a breakfast tray to a Dr. here in town. You would of thought his Daddy hung the moon today. He was so excited. He walked around like a true "big boy"! "I am a worker today, Mommy." He also wanted me to not worry about him because he would be back soon...just taking care of some business...he said he will be back for a nap. Oh the life of a child. Anyways...I look forward to his return from this short but memorable time with his Daddy. He looked so grown up, and you would have thought he was leaving for his first day of school based on all the pictures I took. Hope it puts a smile on your face.

Abby and her St. Patrick's Day Bear!
This was too cute to pass up.
About a month before Abby's birthday, Caleb and I were at the mall having some Mommy/Caleb Time. He said he wanted Abby to have this bear for her birthday. So, I told him that he could make it, but it would be from Dad and Mom. (Since he insisted that she have the Body Pillow of Dora from him.) Anyways...he created this bear at Build-A-Bear and even kissed the heart that went inside. He was so excited for her to have it and told her right away that he made it for her with a kiss. Looks like she is going to love it.
God has been so good to our family since we began to truly follow Him in obedience and Truth.
These children are just glimpses of His love for us. Wow!!

Abby's One Year Check-Up
So here are the stats on our little one...
18 pounds 9 ounces
30 1/2 inches in height
The Dr. said that he figures she is just going to be a petite little girl. When we measured her on the wall this past week, we noticed that Caleb was 2 inches taller than her at this age. Oh the difference in our kids...it is endless, and we love it!

Easter 2008
Happy Easter to all of you! Despite how sick Caleb has been, he had a pretty good time today. We opened the Easter gifts and then around 11:00 (when Abby was sleeping) we headed outside for the "Nichols' Easter Egg Hunt". Since Abby isn't walking yet, we decided to hold her off until next year. Caleb thought the Easter Bunny was sooo nice to leave all those eggs outside.
Even though we all love the Easter Bunny, we have begun to share with Caleb and Abigail the true meaning of this holiday. Grandma Placeway bought us the Resurrection Eggs (created by Family Life) and Caleb really began to grasp the reality of what Christ did for us. He tells us that the Roman Soldiers really hurt Jesus and looks down to the floor with a sad face. Each year we will be doing this, and we have also decided to add some eggs with different Biblical meanings as well. It is amazing how much a 3 year old can understand.
Thank you God for your precious son Jesus Christ. We wouldn't be who we are today without Him in our lives.

We Are Ready for Spring!!!
Okay...so I am about over this weather and all the sickness we have had at our house. We are now going on about 6 weeks of illness. From coughs to runny noses...the flu...and now back to a cough. This time when we took Caleb in they told us that he was days away from pneumonia. So here we are on our first round of "the Nebulizer". We really wish that Cousin Erin lived closer to help us out. I think between her and Aunt Kerry they could have done it blindfolded. Anyways...needless to say we will be back to see the Doctor on Monday (March 24). We are hoping all is clear because this medicine has really changed his personality. Argh! It really does make us thankful for the days when our kids are healthy. Oh...so far Abby has missed this one. We continue to pray that she does.
Thanks for letting me vent!

March Madness
Okay...so Steve decided that everyone had to do their own picks this year for the tournament! Caleb sat at the table with his chocolate chip muffy and made his picks. They were mostly based on how they sounded. He picked St. Joseph's to go all the way because well..."she's my best friend"! Even Abby was given a bracket based on smiles and grunts. It will be a good laugh if the kids end up beating or getting close to Steve's score. As for me....I usually win...but we'll see this year. I may have to "blog" an apology on that one!

Happy 1st Birthday Abigail!
We had a great day with Grandma Placeway, Papa and Grandma Nichols, Aunt Stacy, Cousin's Reese and Madison, the whole Trotter Family, Jake Bowman and of course Big Brother Caleb!
Abby was a little apprehensive at first. She wasn't quite sure why all the people were in our house, and the cupcake was a little out of her league. But with some help, we think she really liked it.
We thank all of you for such a beautiful day, and we thank God for such a precious gift.
Baseball...Just the Boys

Steve took Caleb to Dick's Sporting Goods on Saturday to get his T-Ball glove, bat, balls, pants and socks. Caleb starts T-Ball soon and can't wait. I have to say that he has a pretty good swing and can even hit when Steve pitches. I think we may have a little athlete, and Steve is pretty proud. Oh I think I failed to mention that Steve will be coaching Caleb's team this year for the 3-4 year old league. He is going to love it! :)

Getting Ready for Abby's Party
Caleb is an amazing helper! Once Abigail goes down for her AM nap, we always have Mommy and Caleb time. Today, we made Abby's cake and cupcakes. We had so much fun. While making them, we talked about all kinds of things. He mentioned that Daddy was at work and that I don't work because I "stay home with him to keep him safe". Oh how sweet he is...but to me it is the truth!
So we ate lots of frosting before we decided to wake Abby up. She was thrilled about her baby food lunch, Cheerios and "Puffs", so we didn't mention the indulgence we had just moments earlier. And...Caleb went back to playing with his cars. Oh the life of a 3 year old!
