Race Day

Yesterday, our Mom's Club put on a Race Day event for the kids. We were suppose to head outside, but the weather did not cooperate. Luckily, our friend's church, Faith Community, opened their doors for us to set up a track inside. First the "motoriezed" vehicles raced and then the bikes. The kids loved it, and I hope we make this an annual event.

End of the Year Program

 

 

 

On Thursday, we attended Caleb's end of the year school program and picnic. They sang 5 songs and then were given special gifts from their teachers. Afterwards, all the families enjoyed a picnic put on by the staff. It was a beautiful day, and we had so much fun. We have had an amazing experience at Emmanuel United Methodist Preschool this year and look forward to all that next year brings us as well. Caleb learned so much, especially all the bible verses. God has been so good to us this year.

"I Love My Sister"

It was just one of those awesome days today. Caleb just couldn't get enough of Abby. He kept telling me that he loved his sister, and he was so excited that she was playing with him today. She has been walking for about a week, and now he thinks that she is really "real".

Thank you Steve for giving me this gift to stay home with our children. Though some days are rough, there are so many more that I adore...like today. I wouldn't want to miss this time for anything. I feel so blessed! I love you Babe...and I love all that you do for us.

Happy 60th Birthday Mom!

HAPPY 60th BIRTHDAY MOM!

Mom-

As I sat down to write this note, I really didn’t know where to start. You have been my Mother for 33 years, and we both know that we have hit some peaks and valleys on that journey. But instead of reminiscing on that road, which could get ugly for me, I decided to write to you about the memories you have instilled in me so that I would be able to persevere in my own journey of motherhood.


Mother, as I walk through the journey of life, I remember.
I remember how you helped me to grow with love, truth, and honesty.
I remember how you helped me to choose the right path with values, morals, and self worth.
I remember how you gave me dreams with hope and confidence.
I remember how some times you had to hold my hand tight so I wouldn’t give up.
I remember how you loved and loved even more.
I remember your sacrifices for us and how it never showed.
I remember how much you loved Daddy, and held onto that love until the very end.
I remember your love for Jesus and how it never faltered from day to day.
I remember…..
And so now I pray….
I pray to be a mother like you, to shape little Caleb and Abigail into strong adults, full of hopes and dreams and a steadfast faith.
I pray that I will continue, as you do, to follow God’s will.
These little ones will grow up real soon and before I know it they will need me less and less.
But as I have learned from you, I will always give them my best.
My best is my faith, my love for Christ, my love for Steve, my unconditional love for them and arms that will always hold them tight no matter what comes their way.

Thank you for allowing me to see with my own eyes through the years and to remember. It is those memories that guide me and mold me to be the woman and mother I am today.

Mom's Scrapbook

Early in April, I was still trying to figure out what we were going to give my mother for her 60th birthday. That was when God told me to send out a letter to our friends and family asking them to write letters, notes or send cards to my mom for a scrapbook that I wanted to put together for her. (Sometimes God does amazing and funny things like that to me. So...I obeyed.)

Thank you so much to those of you who sent those letters, notes and pictures. I have added a few of the pages for you to see. I think the book had about 30 plus pages when I was finished. It was the best gift I have ever given her, and I was so excited for her to have it. Thank you again! Your love for her showed deeply.

Grandma's 60th Party

On Sunday, May 18, we had my mom over for her 60th family Birthday Party. Caleb could not wait for her to arrive. He was really excited about giving her the necklace that he bought. "Grandma's going to LOVE this," he kept saying. As soon as he saw her he gave it to her and like most 3 year olds said...."Grandma open your necklace". She laughed. We enjoyed Steve's amazing hamburgers on the grill, Mom's famous pasta salad, and chips. She loves Steve's burgers, so we thought this was quite appropriate for today. We had an amazing time...but the best part was when the kids went to bed for their naps, and we were able to give her our gift.....

Making Grandma's Cake

So Caleb and I decided to make Grandma's cake this year. Caleb thought the "Castle Cake" would be perfect for her and so it was. We had fun, as usual, making it. He had more fun eating the icing. "I can't wait for the party," he said.

Steve and I decided that we needed to add a little something to celebrate Cheryl's (my Mom's) 60th Birthday! She loved it and laughed a lot. Thanks to Faith Community Church for their fundraiser. If anyone else wants to add a little Flamingo love to someone's yard, just call 770-9934 and ask for Patrick. He is the youth minister at their church, and this is one of the fundraisers they do year round. It was awesome!
