Grandma's 60th Party

On Sunday, May 18, we had my mom over for her 60th family Birthday Party. Caleb could not wait for her to arrive. He was really excited about giving her the necklace that he bought. "Grandma's going to LOVE this," he kept saying. As soon as he saw her he gave it to her and like most 3 year olds said...."Grandma open your necklace". She laughed. We enjoyed Steve's amazing hamburgers on the grill, Mom's famous pasta salad, and chips. She loves Steve's burgers, so we thought this was quite appropriate for today. We had an amazing time...but the best part was when the kids went to bed for their naps, and we were able to give her our gift.....

Making Grandma's Cake

So Caleb and I decided to make Grandma's cake this year. Caleb thought the "Castle Cake" would be perfect for her and so it was. We had fun, as usual, making it. He had more fun eating the icing. "I can't wait for the party," he said.

Flamingo"ed"

Steve and I decided that we needed to add a little something to celebrate Cheryl's (my Mom's) 60th Birthday! She loved it and laughed a lot. Thanks to Faith Community Church for their fundraiser. If anyone else wants to add a little Flamingo love to someone's yard, just call 770-9934 and ask for Patrick. He is the youth minister at their church, and this is one of the fundraisers they do year round. It was awesome!

Family Pics

Just wanted to share some fun pictures. Especially the ones of Abby walking. She is doing such a good job, and it is so much fun to watch.

Tiling our Kitchen and more....

Here is just a glimpse of the work that Steve did over the weekend. He had a friend, Jake, come and help cut the tiles. We ended up doing our kitchen, hall, laundry room, bathroom, front entry and the hall that leads to the kitchen from our entry. It was over 300 square feet of work! He did an amazing job. I am so proud of him, and I love the tile!!!! Thanks Babe for all your hard work. I know that it was exhausting...to say the least.

The next slide was of Mr. Caleb the helper with his Papa. Papa Nichols was our savior when it came to completing the project with all our transitions. Thanks Dad!

Conner Prairie

On Saturday, we went to Conner Prairie to get out of the house. Steve had been laying tile in the kitchen hall and front entry since Friday, and it was not exactly the best place for kids. So off we went to hang out and enjoy the weather. They had a great time. We wish we could have seen more, but we will be back. Caleb loved the Discovery Station, live animals on the farm, and playing baseball with all the kids who were dressed in character at one of the homes. I love this age and all the learning that is taking place. Abigail just enjoyed being with us but was not sure about the animals coming up to her face.

Marble Painting

So Caleb and I took some time to hang together today while Abby took a nap this morning. It has been a dreary day so we decided to do a little marble painting, and it was so much fun. He had done something like this at preschool but said his teacher only allowed two marbles. Well....I said..."Throw a lot in this time". He just looked at me like I was not following the "rules". I gave him a big smile...he smiled back...and threw in about 10. I think he thought he was living on the edge. It was great. Now we are going to create some fun things with the pages once they all dry.

Quote from Caleb

This weekend we were riding back from having a picnic and hanging out at Forrest Park as a family, and this is what Caleb said from the back......

"Stop talking my ears are exhausted!"

What a good laugh we got from that one! If I didn't blog it, I know that I would have forgotten it by next week. Oh I can only imagine the statements that will be made when Abigail starts talking too.
